Hey Loves!!!! I'm in the process of recording my album and I must tell you I am enjoying every step of the way! We're working on the production for song #2 and it's coming out amazing!!! I can't lie though.... it is extremely tedious, time consuming, and an emotional roller coaster! I wouldn't trade it for the world!!!! With each track, each time I go out to sing, and with each decision made on this road I dive deeper and deeper in ministry and I feel a pull to do what "Thus saith the Lord"! Now I know what you're thinking... every gospel/christian artist is doing that! Well aside from being a singer; being simply Jenise I feel a pull to put my money where my mouth is. Often times we say we're doing what God has called us to do, but we allow ourselves easy passes every now and then tippin and dippin out of the will of God! Well... in listening to Lecre's HIT song Rebel (sn: I'm a major fan if y'all haven't noticed!!) I just feel truly compelled to go ULTRA hard to say NO to the enemy and his advances and say YES to Jesus and His will!!! This means accountability, going hard to eat more of His Word, spend more time in prayer, and censor what I take in through each of my 5 senses!!!! Taking a Stand for Christ in my life!!! On some true for God I Live for God I die because I MUST see Jesus!!!!

So I'm sitting here this rainy NY night and I'm thinking over my life... my experiences... where I've come from and where I am destined to go. Sometimes I wonder Lord Jesus why me? Why still love me and call me for your service. I wouldn't have chosen me. There is nothing I have done or can do to deserve your love yet you grant it to me regardless. Lord I thank you and I am eternally grateful! Have your way in me, and help me to walk worthy in the vocation where with you have called me.

Sooooo......

It has been quite a while since I last updated you guys!! I am sooo sorry but trust I do have some WONDERFUL things to update you with!

Italy

Yup! I said Italy!!! God has truly been opening doors including one that allowed me to travel to and tour Europe with Minister J. David Bratton and the New York State Mass Choir!!! Ahhhhh what an awesome experience!! For the majority of the trip we toured Italy but we did move around a bit and we got the chance to sing in Hungry, and Germany as well. God truly blessed us there allowing us to minister in song to about 50,000 souls including an Italian all male prison!!! Although the situation was intense, God showed us that His presence cannot be contained by bars!!! The Lord really met us there in a MIGHTY way! Glory to God, I will be traveling back to Europe this winter again to once again minister through song and grow. Being across the world and seeing how hungry the people were for God really changed my outlook on serving people and spreading the GREAT news of Jesus Christ!! I am truly looking forward to this year's tour!!

Weight Loss

I lost 10 pounds and STILL going strong. I've come down about 2 dress sizes and I feel GREAT!!!! Being overseas totally ruined my eating regimen but strangely enough when I got back I had lost weight. So I continue on eating healthy and working out!!! Yay Me!!!

Music

I am back in the studio!!! Not only for me but I am currently writing music for a few BIG name gospel and christian artists who will remain nameless for now, but you know I will let you all know who they are as soon as they release it!! I just came back from Atlanta where I was the guest soloist for the Evangelistic Churches of Christ National Youth Convention. God totally met us there and blessed us tremendously!!! Thank you Jesus!!! I will post up the video for that as so as I get it!!

Book

Yeeeaaaah..... I'm still writing. lol It's truly a LONG process, well at least for me it is! But it is most def coming!!!!!!! I'll keep you all posted on it!

Now you all know me! I am always doing something, and thinking of new ideas, so YES!!!!! There's more, which I will be announcing SOON!!!!

So it's been a little while since I've blogged and I just thought I'd update you all on what's going on with me.

Weight Loss Challenge

So the past couple of weeks have been a mess. We've made it to November 1st (which was supposed to be my goal date) and I had NOT :( met it. That definitely bummed me out considering the work I've been putting in, so I took a break to gather myself and regroup and create a whole new game plan. Please forgive me, for those of you who may have thought I'd given up. I was down for a spell but now I'm back with a vengeance. I am now going into OPERATION OVERTIME!!!!! OPERATION OVERTIME will be more intense, and more focused. There is no date in which I will be putting on myself to loose the weight just straight up MEET MY GOAL by any means necessary!!! So 2-a-days (workouts), food log, and my accountability partner (my brother). I've learned that I work best when I have someone to keep me focused and I just praise God for a brother that will be honest with me when no one else will. Shout Out to my brother Steven Walters!! So yes, I'm STILL at it and I WON'T STOP!!!!

Music

I've been preparing to go on an Italian tour with J. David Bratton and the NYC Mass choir. I am super excited and humbled to have been blessed with this opportunity. I truly do not feel worthy but I am doing my best to prepare and let God have His way in me. In rehearsals I have been learning so much and I believe that Italy is going to produce a whole new outlook and drive for my career. Thank You Jesus!!!

I have also been gathering songs for my album, which will begin recording in the new year. I am very excited about the direction it will take. It is most definitely needed in gospel music today. BOOK!?

So I've always been a writer, and I've always desired to eventually write a book or maybe a few and ever since one of my brothers in Christ saw my most recent photo shoot, he proclaimed that some of the pics looked like a book cover. Well in these past rough few weeks, I've decided to just go for it!!!! So, YES! I am working on actually 2 books. Not sure when they will be done, but I will most definitely keep you all posted on how it's going!

Glory to Glory to Glory to God!!! I just want to say thank you all for your love, support, comments etc. concerning this weight loss challenge! You all motivate me sooo much and I feel so blessed! So today is such an amazing day. I'm starting to see some beautiful results from this weight loss challenge! Glory to God!! This challenge has really centered me; allowing me to look at myself from a 360degree angle. I can see my weaknesses and my strengths. I feel stripped down and naked before my King Jesus. Honestly that's how I want to be always. I feel like by staying open and transparent to God and myself I'll be able to become stronger in weakness and really move and work in my strengths. God is so amazing. He has truly help me with self control by the change in my personal eating habits. I didn't realize that by conditioning myself to say NO to something as small as food will help so greatly in saying NO to bigger things. Glory to God!! Working out has become apart of my life! I LOVE the feeling after a great workout. It is so rewarding!! I am looking for some more great results in the weeks to come! Sometimes I can't even believe I've gone this long myself! None of it would be possible without my Lord and savior Jesus Christ! Glory Glory Glory to God!!! Xoxo

My Loves I have completed another week! To God be ALL the Glory!!! Thank you Jesus. I am sincerely sore in places I didn't even know could become sore. LOL, However it is such a sweet pain! I am so excited about the direction I am going in! Everyday I am growing stronger and doing better. I'm going into another week, which means I will be blogging less! Shawn T is no JOKE with his HipHopAbs DVDs!!!! What in the WORLD!!! LOL!! OK so I've been really going in on healthy eating (which is GREAT), but I'd like to talk a little about my workout plan!!! For the most part I've been doing aerobics, and cardio (running) five days a week. Running 2 days a week. This week I cranked that thang up by adding weights! As a part of my aerobics/cardio I implement Shawn T's HipHopAbs. It is an amazing workout DVD that will really get you up and going. I don't mean to sound like an infomercial, but this DVD is really GREAT. Shawn had my abs burning and my thighs screaming. LOL!!! Please understand that eating healthy is good but adding in a good workout plan is just as important!!!! I'm going in y'all!! Gotta make my November goal! Love y'all! Xoxo

So as you can see I don't have a flick of food up! Instead I decided to put up a picture of a young lady that I think is so FAB!!! Camille Winbush (formerly of the Bernie Mac show- Nessa). So I put a picture of her up because I was on the treadmill and I was looking through a glamor magazine and I saw NOT ONE face that looked like mines :( and I felt some kind of way about that. I started to think about beauty and all the things in the magazine; fashion, healthy eating habits, hott new workout plans, celebrities, and all sorts of entertainment. All of these things we're promoted and glorified as beautiful, or how to be beautiful. I thought it was sad because I did NOT feel encouraged that my dark skin, full lips, kinky hair, and big hips were beautiful. Loves, work out, eat right and all those things because you want to be healthy and fit for you! NOT because of what society tells you is beautiful. Beauty is MORE than what's on the outside. It is what lies beneath. The person that you are and the things that you stand for define your beauty. So YES!!!!!! Your and my BLACK is SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL! LOVE IT because Jesus does!! Xoxoxo!

Week 3

Day 14 September 13, 2010

Beautiful day, and what a workout! My body is so sore it's ridiculous!!! Weights make a big difference!!! I'm feeling skinny already! lol, Just kidding :) I can see already that the change in the workout is going to make this challenge much more intense! But y'all know what I say... No work No success! Above is a treat from my favorite new sweet spot! I already know what y'all gone say, no sweets, but hey it's fat free! OoWww! LOL Shout out to my homie Kristina Osorio for putting me on to Red Mango!!! This place is heaven on earth!!! Nonfat frozen yogurt! Lordy Lordy Lordy!!! PLEASE find one quick and try it! They are sooooo good! My frozen yogurt is topped with mango pieces and granola. TRUST! You will LOVE it!!! See, even when you're eating healthy you can find great things to eat and even healthy sweet treats!! :) I hope y'all check it out and when you do please let me know what you think about it! GLORY!!!!!!! So I've officially made it through this 2ND week! Thank you Jesus and Glory to God! Man this week was so difficult but I made it! YES!!!! Today was a great day. This evening I went to our first women's bible study and was fed some spiritual food which was so GREAT. Now you know church us church folks had to go out to eat afterwards! LOL I got another salad (side eye lol), which was really good. Another turkey Cobb but it was totally different from the Russian restaurant. Super good!! Woo... OK, OK, I promise I will be more innovative with my food selections in the weeks to come! :) Next week I'm going to pump up the volume on the workouts. I'll be incorporating weights now! Help me Father! lol. Can't wait!! Gotta reach my goal! No work=No success!!! Stay Blessed!

It's starting to get to me y'all! Ahhhhhh Getting up to work out this week is really a challenge. I don't know what in the world is going on but I'm going to press any how! Lord help me! So today was a good day aside from the struggle once again! I DID get my workout on and out of the way finally and was able to just enjoy the day! Eating is STILL good. Above is a mixed green leaf salad with grilled chicken! YUP YUP! I've been doing a lot of salads, and although they are great I better start being more creative before I get bored with it! Day 10 September 8, 2010

Can you believe I'm 10 Days into this Weight Loss Challenge??? OH GLORY!!!! God is sooo good! Those 10 days have gone by so fast right? WOW! Today was a GREAT Day! I got up, chatted with a friend for a few and got right into my workout! POW! Take that sore glutes! lol The omelet I had yesterday was so good I decided to make another one today! I'm telling you guys, God is really blessing me to be creative with these meals. Tonight for dinner I made chicken breasts with sun dried alfredo sauce over a bed of whole wheat noodles. I was so hungry from running around today that I forgot to take a pic. lol Don't worry, I'll definitely make some more before the weekend and I'll let y'all see it! So instead I posted a pic of last nights dinner which was chicken covered in bread crumbs and lightly fried, rice and mixed veggies!! lol I really think I'm like Rachel Ray with these meals I'm making :) Also pictured is a mango, peach, and apple smoothie. It came out a little thick but TRUST I WILL perfect it! Aside from the thickness it was really good. Smoothies are really great for a burst of energy early in the morning to jump start your day! (Thanks Dad)

Today was a really reflective day for me as well. I am seeing more and more that as I am ridding my body of junk foods and really taking care of me I have to do the same with my spirit. Those things and people that are polluting your life, please be wise and rid yourself of them. We can have the healthiest bodies and the most beautiful skin but if your soul is black and full of junk it means nothing. So feed yourself the Word of God and everything else you are concerned about, all the things you need to do, everything on your heart God will work out.

Trust God! Live Free!!!

And another day down. This second week has been a bit more challenging. Is seems like it's become a bit more of a struggle to work out now. Maybe because I'm always sore... lol smh! Well whatever it is, I've made a commitment to myself and I'm getting it done. After the workouts are done I feel totally relieved. Above is my breakfast for the day. An egg, cheese, red and green pepper,and onion omelet, a nectarine and a glass of orange juice. September 6, 2010 Day 8

Hey Loves!!! It's Day 8 (I take off from working out on the weekends) and I'm feeling really great!! Today I got back to the workout!! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend. My weekend was actually really enjoyable. Even though I didn't work out I still made sure to stick to my eating habits, which was SUPER hard! lol Father, but praise God I'm doing it!!! Wooo Hooo!!!! So so proud of myself! Above is a smoked turkey, avocado, Cobb salad from this Russian restaurant I tried last night. I so wish I remembered the name. It was so amazingly good! Lord have mercy, am I sore!!! Ahhh guys my body is SO SORE! I have been putting in some serious work!!! I am so proud of myself though because I am so serious and dedicated to this challenge!! Today started off really well. As you can see above I had whole wheat pancakes, turkey bacon, grapes, and orange juice for breakfast. Wowzers!!!! Supa good! You know, changing your diet does NOT mean that you have to stop eating good. Not everything is nasty; as a matter of fact everything I eat is the Bomb! lol OooWww :) Later on I hit up the gym and just went IN! God is great!! Ahhh... I've been feeling really great yall. Side Note: I was reading in the word today about forgiveness. I think it's very important that we remember to forgive because in our sin God still forgives us! If God ALMIGHTY can for us then who are we not to? It will make you feel so much better and really forgiveness is for you not necessarily the other person. Just a thought!

September 1, 2010 Day 3

Happy first of the month Loves!!! So today was like the hottest day of the year?! What in the world?? LOL I thought I was going to pass out in the city today! Hahahaha but praise God I made it back in the house before I did! Today was pretty good (aside from the heat) I had a really beautiful day! I had a really great salad from Europa Cafe for lunch which was SUPER satisfying. I didn't eat too much, which is not the greatest if you're trying to loose weight, but I'm working on it! I don't know why but sometimes I get into this mood where I don't want to eat. I get caught up with so many different things and it just seems to slip my mind, but I am learning to carry little healthy snacks to remind me and force me to eat. --> Please hit me up and remind me to eat! :) Above is a DEEEELISH healthy snack created by my mom (Thanks Ma) which consists of Mangos, Peaches, Strawberries, Kiwi, Bananas, and topped with yogart! So So good and it quinches my sweet tooth everytime! You can remix it anyway you want by adding or taking out things---> relative to your taste. What a day what a day!!! Today I see that I'm going to have to fight to maintain. I know it's only the second day but when I tell you the enemy is busy.... that is truly an understatement. In the midst of it all I still prevail through Christ Jesus. Today was a good day. It started off rough but I pulled through it. It seems like I just couldn't get started but thank God when I got started I got started! Shawn T and his Hip Hop abs got me up and pumped. Thank God for Shawn T. LOL.... Later on in the day I took myself to the movies to see Lottery Ticket!!! I Thought it was so good and just being alone and taking time for myself was truly needed!!! That's all for now! I went to bed last night feeling so pumped about this challenge, only to wake up and realize this is more than just a weight loss challenge. This is a complete life shift. I'm looking to have established some better eating and cooking habits and totally transform my life. I want to be totally dedicated to this ministry God has give me! And so it will be!!
Today was a great day! I started it off with my devotion. I read my scriptures and found myself worshiping and praising God down on my knees In prayer. I ate a light breakfast and high tailed it to the gym at 9. I took care of some business and ended the day with dinner. I made spaghetti with Italian sausages and whole wheat penne noodles and a salad. Mmm soo good; and watched Ron Artest's Life After the brawl. It was a pretty good first day.... So I just 23 last week (April14th Yay!), and I've just been doing a lot of thinking about myself as a young woman of God. This life sometimes can be really hard! With all of the demands of life and society sometimes I find myself feeling a little insecure on who I am because I am not like the "average" 23year old woman living in the big city. However, I find refuge in the Lord Jesus Christ and I've learned that my heavenly Father is concerned about me and has something in His word for every situation I face. I got saved at a young age and I've grown up in church all my life, and to be frank, sometimes I wish I hadn't just to know what it's like outside, but then I realize that I am abundantly blessed to be chosen by God to be cushioned with the Word of God and with parents and family constantly praying for me. So I want to send a special shout out and a word of encouragement to all of you Lovely Ladies that are SAVED, SANCTIFIED, HOLY GHOST FILLED, and FIRE BAPTIZED!!!!!!! Be proud, you are wearing the banner of God's grace and mercy! You are a representation of how Jesus loved the world that He gave His son!!!

So Big ups to my girls with the long denim skirts! Big ups to my sisters still wearing hats and prayer caps! Big ups to all my ladies waiting to have sex until marriage, to be honorable to God! Big ups to my sisters working and raising kids in the fear of God! Big Ups to the Old Mothers and Missionaries!!! Big ups to the intercessors and mentors, to the Sunday school teachers and Ushers. Living In the last days!!!

There have been a couple of things on my mind so you all know that I MUST share. My heart has been grievous to see so much hatred in the world. People if you did not know we are REALLY living in the last days!!! My pastor (below) has been preaching it for years and the coming of the Lord is truly at hand!!! Let us all hold fast to the word of God. Things may seem harder, but that only means you must dive deeper in your Word and draw nearer to the Lord Jesus Christ. So I just want to encourage you to keep your hand in God's hand and if you are not saved PLEASE take care of you first work and receive the precious gift of the Holy Spirit and be baptized in the name of Jesus in the departure and repentance of your sins!!! (Acts 2:38/ John 3: 3) Nothing else matters if your soul is lost!!! So as the word of God says:

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith having our hearts sprinkled 4rm an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water Heb 10:22

Hey!!!

I hope everyone is blessed! There has been so much going on I almost didn't have the time to update you guys! Lol, just kidding! I would never forget you guys! By way of announcements (lol I sound like the church secretary lol)... the results of the 1st Annual C.O.O.L.J.C. Gospel Star Search finale are in and the winner is.... Monica Soyemi. CONGRATS!!! It was truly an amazing event and the Lord Jesus blessed us with His amazing presence!!! GLORY TO GOD!!!!! I most definitely learned a whole lot and I got the opportunity to meet several people. I think above winning for me was the fact that family, friends, co workers, and church family came out to support me and for that I am the winner!!! It truly did my heart wonders to walk out on that stage and see so many familiar faces! Thank you all sooo much!

It's been a while, and I miss you all soooo much!!! I pray that everyone out there is well as I am continuing to be blessed in the Lord!!!

First things first!!! I will begin production on my debut album ,For This Time, in December and I am looking to release in late spring Early summer. TO GO BE ALL THE GLORY!!!!! This is an independent project that I am doing so I'd like for everyone to PLEASE support!! :) It's been a long time coming, but throughout this journey I've come to understand that when we are called to do a task for the Lord it is for a specific time and until that time comes you prepare by seeking God. Lord knows how elated I am about this project, but most of all I am humbled and honored to be called to work in ministry For This Time.

Next, this weekend I will be auditioning in the Church of Our Lord Solo Artists Auditions for a plethura of prizes that would be a blessing to my career. So everyone keep me in your prayers as I compete.

It's almost ThanksGiving guys!!! One of my favorite Holidays>>> mostly because I have an excuse to pig out and act a mess with my family :)>> and I am very excited about it. BAM!!!! I've been super busy and working as we speak! GLORY to God on Most High!!! Yes God... life is NOT perfect but it is definitely worth while when you're living for Jesus.

So The Evangelistic Fellowship Conference was a HUGE success!!! People came from all over and the Lord God truly blessed!!! As you all know I was the guest soloist for the event, singing on the main night (Saturday) as well as the closing day! I was so blessed to see so many old faces as well as new faces including recording artist Kenneth Jackson and Famiy. You can find more about them on theire site http://www.kenthomja.com/.

Guess what I found out! Thanks to Pigskin Loving Lady, http://pigskinlovinglady.blogspot.com/, I have discovered that we have a number of believing athletes out there. I knew that they were there it just seems to me that people are becoming more and more bolder about their walk with Christ!!!! I am definitely not mad at that!!!! Case in point, Ben Utecht of the Cincinnati Bengles is releasing his debut CHRISTIAN album! (no date yet)!! GLORY!! Also, this past weekend Shawn Alexander of the Washington Redskins spoke at the National Community Church in DC. Well to God be the GLORY!!!! It's just really refreshing to see Jesus in every walk of life. When I hear and see news like this it just encourages me to continue to walk with the Lord Jesus because He is and always will be the ONLY way. What do y'all think about this?

Weekend Recap!!!

So the weekend was definitely poppin!!!!!

It kicked off with an excellent rehearsal Friday at noon. What a time!!! God definitely met us there. Thank God and a quick shout out to my musician for the weekend Samuel!!! Can we say anointed!!! The boy can PLAY some Keys!!!

Saturday we met in Brooklyn at the New Beginnings Christian Worship Center and had an excellent time in God!!!! Father!!!!! Worship was off the hook!!! lol There was a point in it where it was just me and Jesus and I just said to God none of this stuff matters.. all the drama and mess that goes on in my life does not matter. It's all about being pleasing to GOD that we may live and reign with HIM forever!!! Everything else will pass away, therefore there is no point in stressing and worrying.

That night I went back out to BK to Bethanie SDA church, where my girl and fellow Christian artist Kristina Halloway (www.myspace.com/kristinahalloway) performed!!!!

Sunday... youth service and bake sale at the Greater Evangelistic Church of Christ (my home church) where A.J. Johnson from Church of our Lord in CT preached!!!!

Great time, Great stuff, Great weekend.

This week, I am preparing to go to FL for a week, and on the 14th of this month I will be ........ wait for it.... 22!!!!! Holla back!!! GLORY!!!!! I will definitely fill you all in on my week in FL and my birthday festivities!!!!

REAL TALK!!!!! A word of encouragement

Hey Family!!!! I hope all is well.... In the spirit of keeping you guys posted I thought I'd let you know what's on my heart and where I'm at on a personal level......

As I stated before I'm in the midst of moving from Queens, NY to Palm Harbor, FL so naturally that is a tedious job, but in the midst of all that I am still singing and making moves to achieve my dream and calling of becoming a professional singer. Saturday, I will be in Brooklyn singing at New Beginnings Christian Worship Center for their women's ministry (Repairer of Broken Walls) service. I am quite excited, but at the same time but it's just.... It's a little difficult to explain. I mean, you know when you are called by God you are going to go through something, but in the midst of that you have to hold fast to God and His word.

I went to World Changers Madison Garden, and in the message that Pastor Creflo Dollar was speaking the pivotal point for me was when he began to explain how to fight back in the fight against the enemy. Since we know we don't fight with flesh and blood, what do we fight with? THE WORD OF GOD!!!! If we are not equipped and saturated in the word of God there is no way we can or will survive, let alone fight back in a spiritual war. I've been trying to fight, not completely unequipped but still without enough armour. So I'm in my word yall..... in order to live we have to remain in our word... know what God is saying about your everyday events, everyday adventures, and everyday fights. I LOVE the Lord.... and as I fight, and battle I know God is with me... going before me and being my rearward. Smile, Sing, Laugh, Live, Love.... Because the devil CANNOT do anything to you that GOD ALMIGHTY does not allow. God has given us the weapons to fight... now we MUST use them!!!!!!!! So Praise HIM!!!! and Don't stop Praising because we are Victorious, and with the Lord Jesus Christ we WIN!!!!!!!!

Yeah so I've been slacking....

Okay, so I was surfing the gospel network and I noticed that my little blog is trying to make a name for itself!!!! GLORY to GOD!!!! God knows how to bless you even when you're slacking. So I again apologize for slacking, and I am here to stay!!!!! But once again I have to say GLOOOOORRRYYY!!!! To Jesus for His favor (in the midst of me being unfaithful to the blog). Thank ya Jesus!!!

BAM!!!! So currently I am in the midst of relocation to Clearwater, FL. So I'm making a bunch of plans and preparations that have taken me away to my usual blogging ways. I recently got the G1 phone by T-mobile (shout outs to T-mobile!!!), so I will be online more, updating you guys and whatnot.

In an effort to trim down a bit, I started a healthy carb (no carb) diet and I have to give Kudos to all of you lovely young ladies that stay faithful to it. I could NOT continue because I realized that I am actually healthy and in following the diet I completely threw my body out of wack!!!! So rice here I come!!! LOL.... It's back to the gym (faithfully), and just keeping track of those sweets. If I can keep those two things in check I'll be just fine. LOL

March 20th, and 27th will be rehearsal and on March 28th I will be singing in Brooklyn.
July 12th, and 13th I will be at the Evangelistic Fellowship Conference In Queens, NY and I will be the guest soloist for the Saturday night service.

I am soooo Super excited about this new endeavor that I'm going into. God placed this ministry on my heart some months back and to be honest I wasn't sure of how, why, where, and what I was supposed to do with it. LOL, I've been studying and on THIS Friday we will have our first group session in which we will study the word of God, and bring together our individual resources to help one another be better women of God!!!
We will meet once a month as the foundation grows, and will eventually grow into more of a working foundation that will aid and assist women in pursuing their dreams and building better lives for themselves and the ones they may influence with the ever guiding hand of the Most High God, Jesus Christ. We will also participate in community outreach, support groups, classes as well as developmental trainings. So I'm sitting at work and I'm just thinking about my career, my life... you know the usual. I know many times I get so anxious about my music and "getting out there" but I've come to the conclusion that when it's my time, it's my time. I've know that for a long time now but I believe that the truth of it has finally settled in my heart and now it's up to me to continue to work hard and pursue. The Lord gave my brother a word and he was kind enough to pass it on to me, so I'm going to pass it on to you. "Use your resources, and Bank on Faith"!!! Every year I've heard people claim that the new year was theirs and all that they've wanted to do will happen this year. My resolution (if you want to call it that), for 09 was to no longer fear, procrastinate, prolong, or do anything that will hinder me from doing God's will and following my dreams. It's been a little bit of a struggle so far, to not back track and fall into the same old methods of doing things but as the song goes, No Cross No Crown. So whatever it is I desire to do in the will of God, it shall come to pass. I'm putting full forth efforts, I'm not back stepping, and I am accepting all that God has made me and all He is making me to be!!!! I look to be blessed on every end before 2009 is out!!!! I pray that you all are blessed abundantly this year and that you Use your Resources, and Bank on Faith!!!!

Yeah yeah yeah, I know I'm madd late but it's all good. I hope everyone had an excellent New Year's eve. I definitely did. I am just sincerely happy to have made it over into another year!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!

OK, so yesterday I watched the first episode of BET's new show Generation Gospel and I must keep it real and say that my first thought on the idea of doing a gospel spin off of 106&Park was correct. I was disappointed in more ways then one.

First of all, the hosts Jorel(of 21:03) and Angel(of Trin-i-tee 5:57). I felt like whoever did the casting did not do a good job. I felt like Jorel had a lot of energy, and he was really excited about the show but Angel on the other hand was extremely dead. They did not vibe together well, and I thought that they should have chosen personalities as apposed to already established artists.

Second of all, the show comes on at 12pm on a SUNDAY!!!! What in the mess?? Everyone is at church that time. (I had to record the show)

Third of all, what happened to the countdown... I think there were like 5 videos played and we didn't even get to see all of them. I was kind of getting into Trin-i-tee 5:7's new video but I couldn't even get the true just of it because they cut it so short!

Also, the house choir?? Are they ever going to get a chance to sing an actual song?? Overall I just felt like there were to many things going on in this first episode. I felt like it was a rushed project and there was absolutely NO creativity!!!!! I feel like if they wanted to do a spin off of 106 they should have come up with more creative things to implement into the show; not just bite off the whole 106&Park concept. Come on saints, we must do better!!!

On a positive note, I did thoroughly enjoy Marvin Sapp's interview (MORE INTERVIEWS PLEASE!!!), and I also enjoyed Kiki's interview and performance!!! Kiki, I'm sorry, Kierra is definitely doing her thing and I am soooo proud of her.... (still bumping her new CD)! I still believe that this show has a lot of potential, but we must be original and SET the bar, not follow the trend. Let's see how the next few weeks go with 106&Park Presents Generation Gospel!

December 27, 2008 I sang at the Hadassa Christian Lounge and it was definitely a blessed time in the Lord. I will be back there on February 14, 2009.

July 11, 2009 I will be singing at the Evangelistic Fellowship Conference here in NY

January 24-February 1st. I will be in Atlanta, Ga and Tampa, FL networking and getting into the flow of the entertainment world, working alongside with my sister and cousin at The Good Life Experience Superbowl Weekend.

Hey is anyone else excited about BET's newest show to premier. The 106 & Park spin off, Generation Gospel, from what I've heard is sure to be yet another great link to reaching souls. Now with keeping in mind that our mission as singers and songwriters (etc.) is to reach souls, I do believe that it will be a success. Now I have to be honest though, when I first heard of this show I immediately thought "Oh Lord, what are these industry people doing???", but in doing some research I've learned that this show has lots of potential to show the collective conscience that it is more than just music and singing, it is our way of life.

Weekend Recap!!!!

Hey everyone!!!! I pray that everyone had a great weekend. I know I did!...Here goes...

Friday night, I went out to my stylist Myckel Cortez Smith's Bday Bash at the aka Hotel in Times Square. I had lots and lots of fun mixing and mingling and I was even put on the spot to sing. God blessed and we ended the night at Texas BBQ's in Times square where we stuffed our faces with wings, coleslaw, salad and biscuits. LOL Great times, Great food.

All day Saturday I was in my pre songwriting class, conducted by my wonderfully anointed vocal coach. SHE IS AMAZING!!!! Ilana Martin everyone!!!! If you don't have a coach and need one, please google her and I promise you will not be let down. Ilana Martin and the Vocal Workout Music School.

Now Sunday was the icing on the cake of my weekend. I was invited by a coworker of mines to come sing at her church. It was such a special experience for me because it was a Chinese Church. God is so wonderful and amazing!!!! It's so easy to remain in your own little circle of churches or friends, but when you step out of that comfort zone and allow God to show you the fullness of Him..... Wow... That's when your view of Him is just enlarged. We all talk about how big God is, but I think sometimes we (at least i did) don't really understand the actual magnitude of Him!!!! To worship and lift God up with a totally different culture was so amazing and encouraging. They completely embodied the meaning of showing the love of Christ. Afterwards they fed us and sent us off with love and a bunch of goodies!!!!!! I had such a blast and I look forward to venturing out to different countries and nations and walks of life to experience God in every corner of the earth.

Tomorrow is the Street Music Entertainment Toy/Clothing Drive and concert and I am sooo nervous!!! Lol, I'm sure you're all like "why in the world is this girl nervous, isn't she a singer." I am but I always get nervous before I have to sing. I'm happy and excited as well. Rehearsals have been wonderful (sorry I haven't been blogging about that), the singers are great and faithful, and God is just developing me into a true singer for Him. I can't even begin to explain how pleased I am. I so do not deserve what God has done for me.

Praise Him Saints!!!!!

Praise Him yall!!! I hope you all have been doing great! God is definitely awesome. I've been going through a little bit but my Jesus is still faithful! I've been emotional because I've been dealing with a lot of personal issues, in my home, at the job, in my career... but through it I feel the Lord telling me to stand still and see His salvation. As you all may or may not know, I am a HUGE Vickie Winans fan. I have a concert of hers on DVD and I was watching it last night, and in the middle of her selections she stopped and talked and she mentioned a song that she'd sung in the past called No Cross No Crown. And she basically talked about how you're gonna go through sometimes and no matter what you do people WILL talk about you. You have to go through some things in order to get to the blessing, in order to get to the promise, in order to get to your goal. That was just a confirmation because on Sunday my vocal coach said that this is the road to becoming successful. Long suffering. It's one fruit of the spirit that we tend to want to over look or bypass; but if everything was just given to us easy, we'd have no relationship with the Savior. There would be no need for Him because everything would be good; but because we suffer, we learn to love, to depend, to seek and trust HIM!!! Glory to God.
I've been sad and discouraged, but through all of this I KNOW that I will reap if I faint not. All I have is Jesus, and all I need is Jesus. Though this is not a blog posting of something fun, or an event but this is real life. This is my walk with Jesus until we meet. I just want to encourage you that as long as you live you will go through something that doesn't feel good. You WILL hurt, but if you keep your trust in Jesus and faithfully follow HIM, it will all be worth it when He says Well done, my good and faithful servant. There is a key that I've learned recently and it is too keep it real. I think that my mother's favorite saying because she always says it; but I've learned that if you keep it real with Him, you allow Him to freely work on your situation. With denial and doubt, you just slam all doors to recovery from any situation. The pic I have posted up is of me and my cousin Tee Tee at the Nets basketball game. I put it up because I feel like it's a real pic of me. No glamor, no glitz, no make up, my hair isn't even done. I want be real with God so I can be real with me, and in turn be real with you. So let's keep it real saints, so we ALL can make it to the Kingdom of God!!!!!

Just wanted to send a Congrats out to Carnell "Cadillac" Williams (RB of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) on the speedy recovery of his right knee. Last September Carnell
tore his patellar tendon, ending his season. Later that week he had
reconstructive surgery and had been rehabbing it until Oct. 22, 2008
when he rejoined his teammates back on the practice field. He was placed on the PUP list for six weeks up until yesterday when he was activated back onto the 53 man roster. Congrats sweetheart!!! I pray that you have a successful season and a continued blessed recovery!! The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 6-3, hoping to make that 7-3 this Sunday against Adrian Peterson and the Vikings.

Bold Right Life is this months CD!!! You Go Girl is what I have to say to Ms. KiKi. As a young singer myself I can really appreciate the process that we go through developing our voices and even our spiritual walk. Growth is what Ms. Kierra
Sheard exudes throughout this entire album. She
ain't little Ki Ki anymore. I was especially grateful for this album because there have been to many times that I've picked up a gospel CD and it turned out to be the exact opposite. Kierra sings songs suitable for every crowd on this album. She does what I do and what I like to call Christ Conscience Music. GRITS "Reiterate" Album Release Party

Last Night I attended Grits' 'Reiterate" album release party. I had such a great time and the guys are true gentlemen. It was in a chic little hotel in Manhattan with a very hip and upbeat attitude. Listening to the album was a whole different experience. This project was definitely a lot different then their others. A lot of fun beats and great lyrics infused with the sounds of many different artists such as Brit Nicole(I'm a big fan), Martha Munizzi, TobyMac, Revolution Art artist JADE, and so many more. Great Great job fellas. I will definitely be having this album in my collection of christian party songs... lol. As I told Grits producer Mo Henderson, with all the different sounds you can definitely dance to it. I really like it (and I'm not even a big christian rap fan). Once again fellas, great job and thanks for all the hospitality!!!!!

Lord I just want to thank you!!! GLORY TO JESUS!!! November 4, 2008, I walked into the Jacob Riis Community Center across the street from my house to exercise my right as a an American citizen for the first time. The feeling that I had was of much pride and honor. To look around and see not only the faces of my black beautiful people, but to see the legacy that our forefathers have left for us; to see that what they fought, died, cried, got beating for, begged, and prayed for, to see it unfold right before my eyes was AMAZING!!!! I praise God, that I am here to witness history and to even be apart of it. This election has brought so much hope and pride and love and unity among ALL people, and because of that you CANNOT tell me that this is not the doing of THE MOST HIGH GOD, JESUS CHRIST!!!! GLORYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! LOL.. excuse me but this is just so wonderful. I have never heard in my life so many of my friends, saved and unsaved, worshiping and blessing God!!! I praise God for the events that have taken place because it's all leading up to the return of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ!!!! So saints... if you're not on your Jesus Tip, or How my Pastor Apostle Lymus Johnson says it, "If I've never believed the Bible, I believe it today because it is fulfilling right before us." GLORY TO GOD!!!! So if you don't know Jesus.. I urge you to get to know Him because the signs are being shown and the word is definitely fulfilling. Let us all continue to rejoice in the Lord, look to Jesus and lift up or NEW PRESIDENT Barack Obama and his family in our prayers as he does the will of the Lord.

Hey everyone.. I know I haven't been posting much lately but trust and believe you all are always on my mind and I still love you :). I've been busy planning, plotting, and all that jazz and in turn it has taken time away from talking to you all. But oh... I miss you all as much as I know you miss me. LOL...
Anyway, just to fill you in, I will be performing in a benefit concert for homeless women and children (as stated in the blog below) at Harlem Lanes on December 18, 2008 a Street Music Entertainment Production. Please, if you would like to come try and bring in a toy (or a few) for these families. We're trying to give them a very happy holiday in spite of their situation.

Saturday, November 8th. HeavyHitter.org is throwing their First (of many to come) FIGHT NIGHTS!!! This first event is going to be featuring Roy Jones vs Joe Calzaghe. It's going to be a night of fun, friends, food(all you can eat), and the fight!!! I will most definitely be in the building. Toy Drive and Concert at Harlem Lanes

On December 18, 2008 at 8pm, Street Music Entertainment will bring together New York City's Top Independent artists in the genres of Hip Hop, R&B and Gospel to benefit the homeless children of the New York City Covenant House.At this time there are approximately 100 young mothers with small children who live in the shelter and many others who regularly seek help at the various outreach centers who would not celebrate Christmas this year if it were not for the out pour of support from these outstanding music artists.
Harlem Lanes located at 2116 Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. Jr. will host the event. All who wish to attend are encouraged bring a gift suitable for new borne children to the age of ten. If bringing a toy for children under the age of five, be mindful of small removable parts that may be a choking hazard. All gifts will be given to the Covenant House for distribution.
Street Music Entertainment an entertainment company consisting of an independent record label and DJ / Sound company (Special Teams Entertainment). CEO Tariq Nelson is a professional Audio Visual Technician, Recording Engineer, DJ and former A&R. You know how you hear a song on the radio and you say "Oh no, I have to get that CD, I know it's gonna be off the chain!!!" Well I got the CD and Boy was I right!!! Everysong was great!! The lyrics, vocal arragnement, production, everything was just great on it. Through all of my excitement, I had to stop because as excited as I was there was a feeling of diasppointment. In the middle of what was stamped as a "GOSPEL" CD were R&B tracks and inspirational tracks. Now I don't have a personal vendetta against R&B or inspirational music (I actually like and listen to some of it), but I do have a vendetta against the fact that while I'm listening to a so called "Gospel" CD I end up listening to R&B or inspirational music. If I wanted to listen to that, I'd go and buy that. I have a serious problem when my soul is desiring to be fed through music and the only way to get it is to endure a little something else first. What in tha mess is that about??? So as I ran on the treadmill I heard the Spirit of the Lord say "Forfeit, that is where gospel artists forfeit the wholeness of what is promised to them." My Lord!!!!
Why is it that gospel artists bend? Why do we slide in a little somethin somethin here and there? Why do we compromise?? Secular artists stay true to who they are by any means... why don't we do the same when we are suppost to be the salt of the Earth? I am so sick of gospel artists feeling like they've made God cool by turning their hats around or sagging their pants or by becoming the "Gospel Beyonce". GOD DOES NOT NEED OUR ASSISTANCE!!!!!! WE NEED HIM!!! I don't see any gain for Jesus when artists do this, all I see is notoriety for that artist and more money. Ain't that some mess... the more you sell out God, the more wealth and fame you gain!!! And if you're thinking well as artists we have to shape our sound to what's attractive to what's going on today, my response to that is I don't think so. The word says Love and Kindness have I drawn thee, and also the word of God is the same today, yesterday, and forevermore!!! Jesus didn't change His word to fit what we think will sell. So what'll it be folks..... Heavenly or Wordly Gain??? Holla at me yall!!!!
